Allen K. Carter, age 85, of Miles City passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City. Allen K Carter was born in September 1930, to Otha & Gladys (Gregg) Carter at home in Olive Mt. Allen graduated from CCHS in Miles City. He married Myrna Skeel in 1951. He served in the US Army, was corporal of the year prior to his discharge at Fort Lee Virginia. Allen & his family made their home in Miles City; he worked at Haley Grocery store, then as assistant manager, then manager of the PCA. He remarried in 1975 to Lou Hendrix, they lived in Oregon before returning to Miles City where they owned & operated Lou’s Crafts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Randy, his wife Lou & his sister Phyllis Conard. He is survived by his daughters Toni Haworth of Miles City, Mikki (Corby) Wilson of AZ, a son Rod Carter of CA, 3 granddaughters, 5 grandsons a step daughter Annie & many great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Beth Palke of Miles City, and a brother Charles Carter of Olive.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Eastern Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post 1579.
Memorials can be made to the Miles City VFW or to Alzheimer’s research.
