Born October 22, 1931 to Arthur Lewis Larson and Elsie Hillemann Larson of Hillside Montana, in Miles City Montana. He died January 16, 2018 in Broomfield Colorado.
He graduated from Custer County High School in 1948. “Artie” worked with his father and grandfather on the family ranch at Hillside Montana. Artie married Nancy Dee Sad in 1961. They had two boys, Andrew Walter Larson, born 1966, who preceded in death his father in 1969, and Carl Arthur Larson, born 1967, who now lives in Henderson, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his son Andrew and his sisters, Ann Boschee, Marie Jacobsen and Mildred Solberg.
Artie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, The Masonic Lodge, York Rite, Al Bedoo Shrine, Eastern Star, Miles City Club, Sage Riders, Elks Lodged and the Eagles Lodge.
He was an accomplished rancher raising wheat, cattle and horses. Artie was a Brand Inspector and served as a Garfield County Commissioner for 7 years. Throughout his life he enjoyed playing guitar in a band and alongside Nancy on violin Carl on bass.
Art’s true passion was with horses to which he devoted much of his life raising, training and showing Cutting Horses.
In 2010 Art & Nancy retired and moved to Colorado to be near their son Carl and grandsons Austin, Cord, Garrett and Tate.

Seems like we’ve known the Larson family almost as long as our own, and in fact we do have family connections. Art was always good at analyzing and figuring out deals, and was able to work out partnerships with various people. Sometimes I thought they might be a little risky, but he would prove me wrong and the arrangement would be successful. It was his specialty. Best wishes to all family.
