Betty Erickson, age 76, surrounded by her four loving children passed away peacefully on June 8, 2014 in Miles City, MT.
Betty was born June 15, 1937, to Clarence and Edna (Millslagel) Rush in Gordon Nebraska. She will be remembered for her great cooking, rising early and having a good cup of coffee. Betty had a great sense of humor and wit and loved to share a laugh or two.
Betty was a very hard worker and cooked in many restaurants throughout Montana. She catered many meals in Miles City for various events. She started losing her eyesight in 2007, but that never stopped her from cooking a good old fashion Mayonnaise Cake. She shared many wonderful recipes with her children. She never used a measuring cup, so this was quite interesting for her to write the recipe. She was a member of the Women’s VFW Auxiliary in Miles City.
Betty leaves behind four children, two step children and one sister: Ted (Julie) Williams, Culbertson, MT, Deb (Randy) Bickel, Miles City, MT, Deanna Coleman (Jim Dick), Culbertson, MT, and Mike (Jolene) Williams, Culbertson, MT; One step-son Scott Erickson, Belgrade MT, and one step-daughter Judy Erickson, Helena MT; and her only sister Lois (Toots) Grose of Centraila, WA. She cherished many fond memories and laughs with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ted (Patricia) Suko and their children Alex and Arianna of Belgrade, MT, Nick (Cassie) Williams and their children Eli, Kelsie, Plenny and Sander (whom shares a birthday with Betty) all of Culbertson, MT, Dessie (Fiancé Adam Peterson) Williams and children Koree Kay and Lakyn Lou, of Culbertson, MT, Rachael (Dusty) Reno and daughter Harmony, of Victor ID, Shellie Williams, Powell WY, Tony Williams & Cody Larsen, Culbertson MT, Charles Dick (Amanda) and their children Rhory, Ethan, Owen and Brekken of Miles City, MT. She is preceded in death by her mother, father and husband Jesse T. Erickson.
A special thank you to the nurses and CNA’s at Holy Rosary’s med-surge and extended care wings for the excellent care they gave Betty to make her last days more pleasant.

Deb and Randy and all of Betty’s family,
So sorry that this time has come for her to meet her maker. I have always enjoyed visits with Betty. She always made me laugh because she always said it the way it was. I will always have very fond memories of her and Jess. May God bless all of you and wrap his arms around you and carry you though the hard times.

My sincere condolences to the family of Betty Erickson – It was not the Creator’s purpose for mankind to suffer (Romans 5:12). May the Creator give you peace through his promise to comfort us (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4). Cherish all the happy memories and I hope that you are consoled by Bible promises of a hopeful future (John 17:3).
Shannon Holmen says
She was such a bright spot! I will miss her too. I have good memories of her as I’m sure you have plenty. She was one of my favorites. My prayers to all of her kids.

My thought are with all of you at this time. I know it is so hard to loose your mother (grandmother). Betty was very interesting to have known. She never minced a word about what was on her mind. I know she will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Take comfort from your memories and with each other.
