Billye Mae Bonogofsky, 77, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 at the Sidney Health Center.
Billye was born January 16, 1941 in Glendive, MT to Sherman and Ermine (Wells) Miller. She was the middle child of three children, older brother Tommy and younger sister Bobbye. They moved all over through her childhood for her dad’s work, living in Glendive, Wolf Point, Fargo, ND, Washington State, Laurel and Billings.
Billye married Kenny Glenn in 1958. They had two daughters, Cheri and Penny. Billye was a machinist and secretary for Kenny’s and her welding business in Billings. After 32 years, they decided to end their marriage, Billye then moved to Miles City. She met John Bonogofsky and married him in 1992. They had an amazing marriage, traveling and loving life before she lost him to cancer. She worked at Friendship Villa, Eagles Club and later the VFW in Miles City.
Billye made friends easily, her loving heart and witty personality were irresistible. She had many close friends including longtime friend and companion Sherwin Sax, and many other friends. Billye loved being around people, family, and her grandkids. She liked to just visit, play cards, do crossword puzzles, cooking and baking, and doing ceramic work. She recently moved to Sidney to be closer to family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Tommy, husband John Bonogofsky, daughter Cheri (Loren) Schlenz, grandson Robby Ernster, and longtime friend and companion Sherwin Sax.
She is survived by her sister Bobbye Guptill, daughter Penny (Robert) Ernster, three grandsons: Lance Ernster, Rusty Ernster and Chad Barker, three granddaughters: Michelle (Brad) Nelson, Morgan Ernster and Jadie Twitchell, and her great grandchildren: BreAnne, Kelsi, Kayla, Braden and Brooke.
Private family graveside services will be held at a later date in the Custer County Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.
