Charles L. “Chuck” Puskas, age 77, of Miles City, MT passed away at his home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Charles Laszlo Puskas was born on July 19, 1938 in Hammond, Indiana the son of William and Susan (Body) Puskas. Chuck was born and raised in Hammond, IN where he attended grade school and high school. Chuck graduated from high school in 1957 and soon after began working for the National Tea Co. Chuck also served in the Navy and attended 2 years in college. While visiting church with his cousin, a young organist caught his eye and after being introduced to Celia Helder the two quickly fell in love and were married in 1961 at the Trinity Reformed Church in Munster, IN. A few years later Chuck and Celia moved to Minocqua, WI where Chuck was hired on with the Oneida Police Department as a police officer. Chuck and Celia decided it was time to start their family and adopted their first daughter Carrie, whom they raised in Minocqua for two years. Chuck felt it was time to move back home to Indiana and not long after, he and Celia were blessed with a second child Christopher. Four years later they moved to Conifer, Colorado where they continued to grow their family with four more children Curtis, Chad, Cassie and Callie.
During this time Chuck worked for Stevenson Toyota selling cars and it was said Chuck was one of the top salesmen for the company. He and Celia also opened up a small sandwich shop together in Evergreen, CO. After closing the sandwich shop the family moved from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to the deserts of Lake Havasu City, Arizona for 22 years. During this time Chuck worked as commercial electrician in Las Vegas, Nevada for over 20 years before deciding to move to Miles City to retire and be closer to his brother Bill.
In his younger years Chuck was an avid basketball player and excelled in martial arts. He also enjoyed playing the accordion, woodworking, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Most of all Chuck loved spending time with his wife and children. Chuck’s love for the Lord was amplified through his faith in God and he lived his life as a testimony to Gods goodness. Chuck loved sharing his life stories with others and brought hope and faith to those around him.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Celia Puskas of Miles City; three sons, Christopher Puskas of Miles City, Curtis (Traci) Puskas of Miles City and Chad (Tina) Puskas of Billings, MT; three daughters, Cassie (Randy) Parker of Miles City, Carrie (David) Essman of Littleton, CO and Callie (Sidney) Fisher of Miles City; two brothers, Bill (Anita) Puskas of Miles City and John (Jackie) Puskas of Florida; one sister, Mary Kay (Patrick) White of Miles City and ten grandchildren, Amber, Brandon, Noah, Daniel, Gabriel, Michael, David, Paizley, Kinzley and Dalton. Please accept my condolences in your loss. When death separates family and friends great sorrow results. We can find comfort in knowing that one day all the things that cause us grief and pain will be done away with. Revelation 21 : 3,4

I’m so very sorry for the loss of your Husband, Father, Brother, Grand-Father and Friend. Losing him will change you forever but the comfort of knowing you’ll see him again, as well as the comfort of each other will get you through.

Dad you were the best father a daughter could have asked for. You were a world changer. You helped so many people and changed so many lives. You dad are in inspiration to not only my life but to everyone you knew. I still drive your truck, I sit in you chair , I have your favorite blue shirt that still smells like you. Most of all dad I have the lessons you instilled in me, to be a fighter till the end. You always told me “Christians fight until they win”. So that is what I am going to do and I know you will be there right with me. I ask God everyday to give you hugs and kisses from me and mom and to tell you how much we love you and miss you everyday. Wait at the gates for us Dad because I know we will spend eternity together. I love you.

Well dad, it has been almost 5 months since you went to heaven. Nothing has been the same without you. I miss you so much I almost feel part of me left with you the night you died. Part of me wants to go with you but I know I have to stay here until it’s my time. I hope your singing with angels dad and dancing with Jesus.. I love you dad.
Cassie Parker says
I really miss you dad. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of you. I wish I could talk to you and hear your advice. I miss your hugs, your wisdom, and seeing you sitting in your chair when I come over. I often go to the cemetery at sit where your name is. I cry a lot and I try to be strong and carry on your legacy of faith. We light lanterns off for you. I know you see them. The days and weeks are hard. I hold on to knowing you are with Jesus and I know one day we will see you again. I know you are in Gods army of angels. He needed a strong soldier. We are doing ok, just taking one day at a time. I really miss you dad. ” I love you so much I knock your head off!” Can’t wait till the day the good Lord takes us home so we can all be together. Until then wait for us ok. Love you daddy.
