The Lord called Clara Brott home on May 24, 2014 at Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City with her family by her side.
Clara was born on February 28, 1921 near Marsh, MT to Adolf and Maria Schlenz Schwartz. She attended grade school at Fairville country school and began high school at Terry High School but needed to return to the farm to help her parents and assist with her younger siblings until the family moved to Fallon.
On September 14, 1940 she married Leslie Dirks in Fallon and they moved to Seattle, WA where Les worked in the shipyards. In 1944 their daughter Sharon was born and shortly after they returned to Fallon. In 1949 daughter Dianne was born followed by daughter Pamela in 1955.
Clara worked with her husband Les for many years as custodians at the Fallon Grade School. She also was employed at Milo’s Grocery in Fallon. She loved little children and babysat many youngsters over the years. She was very active in the church and was a charter member of Fallon Homemakers. She loved doing embroidery and making quilts. She made sure all the family had some of her “stitchery” to remember her by. She spent many hours with the church ladies making quilts for missions and the needy.
In 1989 Clara married Dodd Brott of Plevna. As he was a member of the Southeastern Montana Fiddlers they spent many enjoyable times at fiddle sessions and senior citizen dances. She met many friends there and enjoyed the travels they did together.
As her health declined she had to move to the nursing home in Miles City where she became great friends with her roommate, Loretta. They spent many hours talking about “old times” and just enjoying each other’s company.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Les, brothers Jake, Otto, Herb, Fred, Dave, Henry, Richard, Adolf, Rudolf, and baby brother at birth, one sister Lilly, grandson Jason Scott Freiboth and husband Dodd.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Sherm) Fluss, Dianne (Wade) Freiboth and Pam (Rocky) Ban; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, Shawn and Jean Fluss, Alexis, Andraya and Daylon; Shan Fluss; Sharilyn and Tim Kortum, Bailey and Loni; Toby and Staci Ban, Carter, Carson and Cayden; Brigette and Phil Schmidt, Ryker and Wyatt; Jana and Rocky Barz, Brenden; Candy Freiboth, Max and Simon. She is also survived by her sister Olga (Ozzie) Kaul and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 1:00p.m. to 6:00pm at the chapel of Stevenson and Sons in Terry. Funeral services will be held on May 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Hope American Lutheran Church in Fallon followed by burial in the Prairie County Cemetery at Terry.
Memorials in Clara’s name may be made to Hope American Lutheran Church, Holy Rosary Extended Care or the charity of your choice.

To Clara’s Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Clara was a very special lady. We grew to know her and enjoyed many visits with her when we went to see our mother Loretta. She was such a caring person and you could tell she enjoyed children by the many pictures of her grandkids and families, when my nieces would go out to see their grandma they would always give Clara a big hug before they would leave. Not only was she concerned with the little ones but she always asked about the older kids. I know mother misses Clara tremendously. Know we are thinking of all of you at this time. Rest in Peace Clara. The Schaefer family.

My sincere condolences to the family of Clara Brott – It was never the Creator’s purpose for mankind to suffer or die (Romans 5:12). May God give you peace through his promise to comfort us (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4). I hope that you are comforted by Bible promises of a hopeful future (John 17:3).

We extend our deepest and most sincere sympathy to all the family. We are so glad we were able to spend time together with Clara at the family reunion just a couple summers ago. She was the sweetest, loving and most dear person and we are blessed to have had her in our lives. We are comforted in knowing she is home now with our Lord. We look forward to meeting again and joining all our loved ones. I know Mom (Pearl) and Clara will be having a wonderful reunion when they meet in heaven.
Love & Blessings to you all,

Sandie (Waldo) Viall says
Dear Sharon,Diane, Pam and extended family, I was sad to hear of Clara’s passing. I have many memories of time spent with your family at your home and at church. I too am fortunate enough to have some of her stitchery. She was very particular about her embroidery and I am happy to have been the recipient of some of her work. I also remember some of those times making those quilts ( although I think us kids were more distraction than help! Fortunately I was able to make up for it a bit when I helped a few times as a young adult) and how happy we were to have them that one Christmas Eve when it was so cold the propane lines gelled and we had no heat for the services. Please know that there are many out there like me who carry a piece of your Mom in their hearts. I am thankful that I had time to visit with her at Holy Rosary Extended Care when I would go to visit my mom who is also there. I kept hoping I would run into one of you. With condolences,
Sandie
