Graveside Service: will follow on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hearts of Peace Cemetery at Brusett.
David W. Huston, age 93, of Miles City, formerly of Jordan, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the VA Nursing Home in Miles City.
David was born in Hazney, Montana on April 23, 1917, the son of Harry H. and Susie (Clark) Huston. He grew up and attended schools in Garfield County and went to Garfield County High School. He worked all over western Montana for some years. He was the first drafted serviceman from Garfield County. He served in Alaska in a Forestry Engineer Unit during World War II as a high climber and rigger. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Brusett where he took over the family ranch. David married Kathryn Haney on June 30, 1945, making their home in Brusett until ill health forced David to be closer to medical facilities. He spent the last 2 years in Miles City with his wife Kathryn.
David truly loved their ranch, traveling, reading and most of all he loved spending time with his family.
David is survived by his wife, Kathryn Huston of Miles City, MT; his daughter Peggy Pierson of Jordan, MT; a son Sam (Helen) Huston of Fort Saint John, British Columbia; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Peg Childers and Carol Umland and an infant daughter, Anita Rae.
Visitation will begin on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Jordan. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Jordan. Interment will follow on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hearts of Peace Cemetery at Brusett. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Jordan is in charge of the arrangements.
