Gladys “Patti” Silk was called home to be with the Lord Saturday morning of December 1, 2012. We were all blessed to have her until the young age of 58 when she lost a hard fast battle of liver disease.
Patti was born on May 27, 1954 in Poplar, MT. Patti loved to be around her family whether it was a special dinner or just a cup of coffee. She had love for any and all of her family and friends. It could be just for a laugh or a much needed cry she always had a special way of making you feel loved. Her favorite past time was being with her kids and grandkids.
She married the love of her life on January 7, 1975 and stayed happily married to her soul mate and best friend for 27 years until he passed on January 6, 2002. Together they raised five beautiful children with lots of love and, in turn they blessed them both with 13 grandkids and one great-grandchild.
Patti’s spirit will be carried on by her oldest daughter Carleen and her husband Dillon and their three children (Matthew, Alex and MaKayla) and Matthews son Jayden all of Miles City, Frederick Dean Silk Jr. and his wife Lisa and his kids (Jazzma, Briahna, Jordan, Quentin, Hanna and Kayden) all of Miles City. Kolleen and her children (Bryce, Tada, Kobe, Ty’Annha) all of Miles City. Trish and her children (Dustan and Acacia) of Miles City and James Silk of Miles City.
Patti is also survived by her brothers and sisters Margaret “Maggie” Fast Horse of Billings, MT, Daniel “Junior” Martell Jr. of Genora, ND, Sharon Hawk of Miles City, Connie Black Eagle of Wolf Point, MT, Donald “Jiggs” Martell of Wolf Point, MT, Dennis Martell of Wolf Point, MT, Sandra Dolajak of Miles City, MT, Joe Martell of Wolf Point, MT, William “Willie” Martell of Poplar, MT. Patti was preceded in death by her mother Mary Colvin, father Daniel Martell Sr., brother David Martell, sister-in-law Vonda Martell, nieces Nicole and Amanda Lambert and her husband Frederick Dean Silk Sr.

Colleen, so sorry to hear about your mom. Now you have a special angel to watch over you.
Cindy Christian says
Your mom had a beautiful smile and laugh. I remember when you kids were little, I’d call and ask her what she was doing and she’d always say ‘sitting here looking pretty’.and then she’d laugh. I’m so sorry you all have to go through this hurt. Love one another and remember what a special Mom you had.

It is still such a shock to me that Patti is gone. Thank you so much for calling me and telling me how sick she was. It meant a lot that I was able to see her before her journey to heaven. I have had a lot of fun times with you all & Patti & cherish every moment! You are all like family to me & have been a part of most my life. She was like a second Mom, even though she HATED me at the beginning of all of our friendships… “Now Angel, I never hated you haha” (inside joke). When she said I love you, I knew she meant it! My fondest memories of her were her infectious smile & laugh, her looking at us girls wondering what we were up to & the way she loved her grandchildren. If you need an ear, shoulder or laugh please call me & we will get together. You are all in my thoughts & prayers. And remember… She & your Dad are now reunited & watching over all of you together as Angels 🙂 Love you all & God Bless!!
