Helen Rath Bollinger, 91, of Jordan, MT passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Garfield County Health Center in Jordan, MT.
She entered this world on May 2, 1925 at Jordan, Montana, the 1st born of Maggie and Phillip Rath. She married Arthur Bollinger on January 28, 1941. Art and Helen lived in Jordan their entire life.
Helen worked at various jobs while raising her 3 daughters. She always felt honored having been one of the first cooks when Garfield County Schools started their lunch program. She was an avid Mustangs fan, especially loving basketball, spending many years and traveling many miles to watcher her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
When her health started to fail she moved to the home of Virgil and Carol Hellyer and then spent her final years at the Garfield County Health Center. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her sister Clara and niece DeAnn and loved having the county home school children visit and entertain. The staff at the Health Center became her extended family and treated her as one of their own.
Helen is survived by daughters Agnes Stanton of Billings, MT and Carol (Virgil) Hellyer of Jordan, MT; three sisters: Ruth (Bill) Gass of Billings, MT; Clara McWilliams of Jordan, MT and Shirley (Ray) Siegle of Belgrade, MT; her brother Ray (Jane) Rath of Miles City, MT; grandchildren Marty (Wendy) Siroky, Michelle (Tom John) Byrne, Mindy Siroky, Thomas Spillum, Loren (Tamara) Spillum, Deb Fogle, Ebert (Karen) Stanton, Greg (Kendra) Hellyer, Denim (Kerrie) Hellyer, Jill (Casey) Clark and Bret (Samantha) Hellyer; numerous great and great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Art, daughter Delores Siroky, sons-in-law Ted Siroky and Bill Stanton, grandson Jack Spillum, brothers: Dick (Richard) and Robert (Bob) Rath and sister Esther Jessen.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pioneer Cemetery in Jordan. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Jordan is in charge of the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Jordan Ambulance or the charity of one’s choice.
