Howard F. Starck, age 77 passed away on August 11, 2015 in Miles City, MT.
Howard was born on August 14, 1937 in Berthoud, Colorado. He was the son of Theodore & Emma (Krening) Starck. He attended school in Windsor, CO graduating from Windsor High School in 1955. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Navy, and served as a medic in the Marine Corps. Howard was honorably discharged in 1958. He married the love of his life, Lore Bechthold, on November 6, 1958. To this marriage came two children, Brian and Marvin. Howard started work in the lumber industry as a sales clerk in Loveland, CO. In 1968 he began his career with Bloedorn Lumber as a yard manager in Casper, WY and retired as a Vice President after 35 years. In retirement, Howard and Lore relocated to Saratoga, WY for ten years and then purchased a motorhome and enjoyed traveling around the country for nine years. They were grateful for the many lifelong friends they met along the way and especially enjoyed visiting their grandchildren.
Howard enjoyed fishing, mowing, woodworking, traveling and in later years he pursued his interest in technology and pencil art. Most importantly, he loved his family and grandchildren.
Howard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lore; his children: Brian (Terri) Starck of Arvada, CO and Marvin (Raylene) Starck of Miles City, MT; his brothers: Kenneth, Ted, Bill, Ed and Bob; his grandchildren: Brad (Kelsey), Taylor, Brooke, Jake and Lindon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.
