Jean Rose (Metcalf) Allison, age 89, of Biddle passed away on April 5, 2018 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana with her family by her side.
Jean was born October 25, 1928 in Barnesville, Minnesota to Joe and Hilda Metcalf. She grew up and went to school in a couple different places in North Dakota. She married Howard Allison in Glendive, Montana on November 26, 1946. After they were married they moved to their ranch near Biddle where they ranched and raised their two sons, Jon and Bill. She also worked at the Biddle Store several years and then became the Biddle Postmistress in 1971 and retired from that in 1992.
Jean was active in the Biddle Home Demo Club, VFW Auxiliary and the Retired Postmasters. Jean enjoyed helping her sons in 4-H, sewing for her family, gardening and in later years took up quilting. She tried to make quilts for all of the new babies in the community. Visitors never left her house hungry as she was a fabulous cook and was always ready for a game of cards.
Jean is survived by her sons, John (Judy) of Biddle and Bill (Brenda) of Roundup; grandchildren: Kristy, Mike, Kevin, Carrie (Mark), Ausencia “Sis” (Kaleb), Tassie (Don), Dade (Jaylene) and Leigh Rae; great grandchildren: Ava, Gabe, Hannah, Elli, Katie, Charlee, Alex, Perry, Jake, Sydnee & Tyla; great great grandchildren: Zavier and Brandon. She is also survived by her sister Deloris Buck of Forsyth. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, parents, brother Ted, sisters Louisa and Corrine, infant son Richard and grandson Frank.

Jean and Howard were the dearest and truest kindest of friends anyone could wish for, Jean was so generous with her gifting of handmade quilts, afghans and her crocheted rugs, the best thing is she taught me how to make the rugs. We loved her dearly, miss her, but have special memories of this grand lady. Sending our heartfelt condolences to her family.

Bill, Brenda, Jon and Judy,
My, heart, thoughts, prayers, and hugs are with you today as you say goodbye to the person who was your mom, grandmother, and a dear friend to a lot of people in the community. A lot of my memories of Jean was when we spent many fun summer afternoons at the Wallace ranch. I remember one afternoon she was a victim of a prank the youngest Wallace played on her. Needless to say Jean “whupped” the perpetrator ‘s backside. We all got a good laugh out of that. May God Bless You at this difficult time. May Jean rest in peace with all the loved ones who went on before her.
