Kenneth Wayne Kohone's "Kenny", age 62, passed away at Holy Rosary Healthcare, Tuesday, March 29, 2011 with family by his side.
Kenny was born May 30, 1948 in Miles City, MT to F.T. "George" Kohone's and Fern Lambert Kohone's. He grew up and attended school in Miles City until he joined the U.S. Army in 1967. Kenny was a paratrooper in the 173rd Air Brigade, in which he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was injured in combat and was awarded the Purple Heart along with numerous other medals. He was then reassigned to the 82nd Airborne and redeployed to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. While stationed in Fort Bragg, he met and wed the love of his life, Sandi in 1972. Throughout his life, Kenny held careers in the oil field, mining, construction and truck driving. He loved riding his four-wheeler and motorcycle, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and dogs, and caring for his father. He was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul and loved helping people; if you ever woke up on a snowy day to a plowed drive-way chances are it was Kenny.
He is survived by his father, George of Miles City, MT; his wife, Sandi; three sons, Michael of Miles City, Kenneth Jr. (Erica) of Casper, WY, and Tom (Karlie) of Colorado Springs, CO; a step-daughter, Nichole (Steve) of Wilmington, NC; a step-son, Brian (Kim) of Brooklyn, NY; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by his mother, Fern; his son, Shane; and his step-mother, Joan.
