Leah was born in Kalispell, Montana on January 21, 1938, the daughter of Claude and Rita (Kincaid) Currey. She grew up and attended schools in Jordan. Following her schooling, she worked with local sheep shearing crews and worked at local restaurants. In 1962, she purchased the family ranch which she operated until she sold the ranch in 2005. During her years on the ranch, she successfully operated an outdoor outfitting and commercial fishing business with her children along with running Central and Western Livestock Order Buyers with her husband. Leah and Sandy later moved to town and made their home in Jordan.
Leah loved music, flowers, gardening and dancing.

My sincerest sympathy for the loss of a truly great woman whom I believe was much ahead of her time.
