Morton “Ricky” Forrest Other Bull Sr., Awe’kuwaa’aalaawaache’ “Land Sits In the Middle”, 75, of Lame Deer but formerly of Lodge Grass, died Wednesday evening, September 26, 2018 surrounded by family. He left his wife and family to return to the Lord. Ricky was always a very proud and humble man. He was very considerate and respectful to all those who knew him. He drove school buses for years and loved all of the children he greeted each morning. Ricky was a very traditional man, outgoing and devoted, and above all he loved his family and friends very much. He never turned anyone away from his home and was very hospitable to others. In his free time, he loved watching WWF, traveling and visiting his relatives. He was born December 15, 1942 in Lodge Grass, son of Alonzo and Margaret “Hill” Other Bull. He grew up in the Lodge Grass area and received his education in Lodge Grass, Chicago and Denver. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Montana State University. He also attended Greer University, Emily Griffith and Metro State College in Denver. Married 56 years, Ricky married Bertha Yellow Fox on July 7, 1962 in Lodge Grass and the couple made their home first in Denver, CO and then later in Lame Deer. He was from the Big Lodge Clan and was a child of the Greasy Mouth Clan. Ricky worked as the director of transportation for Lame Deer Public School for 35 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling and had covered 48 states. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing guitar. His favorite artist was Elvis, and he enjoyed visiting Graceland with his grandson Alonzo after three attempts. He is proceeded in death by his parents Alonzo and Margaret Hill Other Bull, daughter Mortalynn; sister Isabelle Clubfoot and brothers, Ludall, Byron and Aaron, and granddaughters, Sarah, Alexandria and Martika Other Bull. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Bertha; sons, JR, Vernon, and Marty of Lame Deer; and an adopted son, Derek Nelson of Utah; and one daughter, who was a blessing to them, Alice of Okeechobee, Florida. He is survived by his sisters, Deana (Alex) LaForge, Sr. of Lodge Grass, Rebecca (Wesley) Stops and Myrna Dawes of Crow Agency, Marcelline Little Nest of Lodge Grass, Janice Medicine Horse of Billings; his brothers Chuck Lamka of Asia, Raynard Other Bull, Larson (Patty) Medicine Horse, Mike Little Nest of Crow Agency, Tyler Medicine Horse of Billings; his grandchildren: Jolynn, Deleana, Shalena, Jacob, Delcey, Alonzo, Isaiah, Emmanuel, Patrick, Alliana and Suzy. Great-grandchildren that include Haidyn, Hunter JR, Harlow, Rylan, Zayonna, Ezekiel, Leila, Nadonis, Jacobe-Atlas “Cowboy”, Atreyo and Kyrie. He is also survived by his extended family including the Hill, Bear Below, Horn, Turns Plenty, Wall, Medicine Horse, Jefferson, Carpenter, Good Horse, Anderson, Big Lake, Shaffer, Bends, Froze, Stops, Dreamer, Yellow Fox, Rising Suns and Backer families. Our family is very large; if we have missed you, please accept our apology. Our family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Billings Clinic for giving our grandfather the attention, care and love during his time there. A traditional wake service will be held 7pm Friday, September 28th at Assembly of God Church in Busby, MT. Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, September 29th at Spirit of Life Foursquare Church in Crow Agency, MT. Burial will be in the Lodge Grass Cemetery. Stevenson and Son Funeral Home in Forsyth, MT has been entrusted with the arrangements.

I was so very sorry to hear about my friend, Ricky. My love and heart and thoughts and prayers are with his entire family and loved ones.
