Patricia Ann Pickering, age 76, of Miles City passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at her home in Miles City.
Pat was born on July 14, 1937 in Forsyth, Montana, the daughter of Lee and Birdena (McJunkin) Cartwright. She attended school at Vananda, Hammond Valley and graduated from Colstrip High School. Following her schooling, she went to Spokane, Washington where she received her associate’s degree in office management. She married Mark Small and to this union, two children were born, Lyle and Dixie. She later married Dan Pickering in 1963 and to this union two children were born, DeeAnn and Dean. She spent most of her time between Forsyth and Miles City, making her home in Miles City since 1970. She retired from the VA in Miles City as Chief Property Manager.
Pat loved to sew and restore old furnishings. Her pride and joy were her children and especially her grandchildren. She loved being a Gramma!
Pat is survived by two sons: Lyle Small of Miles City, MT and Dean (Stephanie) Pickering of Miles City, MT; two daughters: Dixie Hofer of Miles City, MT and DeeAnn (Larry) Wagoner of Miles City, MT; three sisters: Melva Donley of Forsyth, MT; Doris Rector of Great Falls, MT; and Helen Curran of Rosebud Creek, MT; her grandchildren: Steven Carroll, Tiffany, Mary, and Sara of Oregon, Lee Small, Allen Hofer, Ryan Clemons, Kali Clemons, Colton Kruger, Monique Ramsey of Ohio, Kelly Wagoner, Rhonda Wagoner all of Miles City, one adopted son Tim Ramsey of Newark, Ohio, Chance Kalloch, Nathan Pickering, Katie Pickering and Jonathan Pickering; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will be held in the Forsyth Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
