Vincynthia Shoulderblade, Ve’keseha’e (Bird Woman) , age 41 passed away peacefully on July 16, 2012 at her home in Muddy Cluster Housing surrounded by her family. She was born on March 3, 1971 to Delores Lodge and Vincent (Buffalo) Shoulderblade. She was a very loving and caring person, she took pride in her family and especially her daughter, Raquel and grandson, Nathaniel, the loves of her life. She had a big heart with a great personality and an even bigger sense of humor. She always greeted everyone with a smile that lit up the world.
She was raised in Lame Deer and her siblings include, Eugene, Maria, Tony and Ben. She attended the Lame Deer Elementary School and high school in Chemewa, Oregon. In 1989, she graduated from the Northern Cheyenne Tribal School. Later, she attended the Chief Dull Knife College majoring in Business Management. Vincynthia’s first employment was with Ione and Bruce Cady as a cashier at Cady’s Gas Station and Cheyenne Depot. Her most recent employment was at the CDKC Haajiske Child Care Center as Child Care Provider. Wherever she worked she did an excellent job for her supervisors and coworkers and became good friends with them.
Survivors include her daughter, Raquel, her grandson Nathaniel of the family home and son Reality Shoulderblade of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is also survived by her mother Delores Lodge, her siblings Eugene (Marci) of La Junta, Colorado, Maria, Anthony, Ben (Sarah), Quinndalyn (Mike) Cheney, Janelle (Brian) Jones, Stella (Damson) Ortega, Eric (Brenda) and Ivey (Barb) Timber, Pascal Shoulderblade, Clayton Whiteman, Jr. Clifford Limpy Jr., Merlin (Cheryl) and Jonathan (Theresa) Limpy. Her nieces and nephews, Vanna, Ivan, Van III and Javan Ryan, Seran and Lance Shoulderblade, Latrell and Jaylen American Horse, Shantell and Mya Cheney, Ashodiah, Aalyias, Antonia and Anbraya Shoulderblade, Jeremy, Loren and Danica Burr, Erica, Kristin, Erin, Kia Timber and Justin Blackwolf, Michael, Dominic and Chloe Ortega, Jade Wagon-Watt, Janelle Little Coyote, Cedar Shoulderblade and Shakia Whiteman, April, Destiny, Bailey, Merlin Limpy Jr., Jareth, Jozette, Jonathan Limpy Jr., Suzanne, Russell and Kathryn Limpy. Her maternal uncles, Gary Goggles, Mike Her Many Horses, Dominic Running Hawk and Henry Lodge. Her paternal grandmother, Fern Shoulderblade, her Aunties include Marcelline (Charles), Magoo, Rita, Wilma (Tiny) and Mary Shoulderblade, Barbara Bement, Shirley, Annette, Serena and Esther Brady, Irene Flying, and Gloria Goggles of Ethete, WY. Her Uncles, Ike (Henrietta Bear), Robbie Bement, Don (Ruthie), Francis and Titus Shoulderblade. Her special cousins, Bernadine Jr., Starla and Clint Shoulderblade, Clayton Neiss, her special nephew Aalyias and so many others too numerous to mention. Vincythia’s extended relatives include the Running Hawk, Lodge, Red Cloud, Eagle Hawk, Her Many Horses, Whitehawk, Standing Soldier and Good Iron families of South Dakota, the Shoulderblade, Seminole, Fisher, Bixby, Eastman, Woodenlegs, Killsnight, Whitewolf, Runsabove, Rowland, Brady, Whiteman, Bearchum, Clubfoot, Pretty Boy, James, Bordeaux, Foote, Woodenthigh and Spang familes the Monroe, Dewey and Duran familes of Riverton, Wyoming. She is also survived by two adopted sisters, Mary Leedom and Connie Blackwolf. Vincynthia’s close friends are Koko Hiwalker, Bonnie Burns, Zippy Tallbull, Charlotte Whitecrane, Rosita Castro, Tia Clown, Anissa Kellum and Pepsi Runsabove.
Vincynthia was preceded in death by her dad Vincent (Buffalo), Paternal grandparents, Thomas and Annie (Bixby) Shoulderblade, Maternal grandparents, Pete and Virginia Lodge, Godparents, James and Julia Shoulderblade, Auntie Kathryn Shoulderblade, sister and brother, Raquel and Maynard Timber and nephew, Nathaniel Ryan.
