Graveside services for Aaron Ventling will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 17, 2004, at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota with Military Chaplain Father William Zandri officiating and military honors provided by the Sturgis Honor Guard. Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home of Gillette, Wyoming is entrusted with the arrangements.
Aaron Ventling, age 70, of Gillette, Wyoming died September 13, 2004, at his home of natural causes.
Aaron Charles Ventling was born August 10, 1935 the son of Charles and Mildred (Hazleton) Ventling in Dayton, Wyoming.Aaron was raised and educated in Dayton, Wyoming. In 1952, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1956. Upon his discharge, he returned to Dayton, where he married Billie Achenbach. The couple had three children and later divorced. Aarons career in law enforcement took him to Riverton and Rawlins, Wyoming, where he lived until his retirement from the State Penitentiary. In 1986, Aaron moved to Gillette, Wyoming to be near his children and grandchildren, where he has resided since.
Aaron enjoyed oil painting, rock hunting and reading old westerns. His passion in life was his grandchildren, which was reflected through his devotion to them. Aaron also enjoyed his close neighbors and friends.
Aaron is survived by his daughter, Roxene Ventling of Upton, Wyoming; two sons: Dart Ventling of Upton, Wyoming; Kevin Ventling of Sheridan, Wyoming; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
