Adaline Billie Trusler

Rosary: Friday January 7th, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Social Room at the St. Labre Parish.

Funeral Mass: Saturday January 8th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Labre Catholic Church in Ashland, Montana

Rite of Committal: will follow at Willow Crossings.

Adaline McKelvey (Billie) Trusler passed away the Monday morning of January 3, 2011 at the Powder River Manor, Broadus MT. She was ninety-eight years old.

Billie Trusler was born on August 30, 1912 at the Rocking Chair Ranch located on the Tongue River near the Ashland- Birney community. She was the second daughter of Jud and Kathron OHannon McKelvey.

She derived her early education at the ranch home from her mother, a former teacher, and later graduated from Custer County High School in Miles City in the class of 1930. She took courses in creative writing and merchandising at the University of Southern California. She became a designer and merchandising manager for Bullocks Department store in Los Angeles and Palm Springs, California.

In 1944 on January 19th at the St. Labre Catholic Church in Ashland she married Luther D. (Buster) Trusler and together they established their ranch on Home Creek in the Ashland Community. She was a lifelong member of the St. Labre Catholic Church and for many years she sang in the choir. She was also a newspaper correspondent for all the local editions and many historical papers. She was a member of the local social clubs and helped promote Cowbelles, Senior Citizens, Boy Scouts, 4H, and the Republican Party serving at one time as a State Committee woman, and for over 35 years on the Ashland Election Board.

Billie is preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Buster Trusler; her sister, Beverly McKelvey Delmiere; her son, Stephen Bennett Trusler; and her stepson, Calvit Spencer Trusler.

She is survived by her sister Margaret Cole of Billings, two of her three sons; John Luther Trusler, and Thomas William Trusler (Suzanne), her five grandchildren; Thomas Dale Trusler (Kim), Danelle Dawn Trusler, Suzanne Adel Trusler, Billie Jo Trusler, and Mary Florence Trusler, and her three great- grandchildren; Thomas Jay Trusler, Cherilyn Renee Trusler, and Phoenix Jayden Michael Trusler.

The funeral mass will be held on Saturday January 8th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Labre Catholic Church in Ashland, Montana followed by a gravesite service at Willow Crossings. A rosary service will be held on Friday January 7th, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Social Room at the St. Labre Parish.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Powder River Manor, 104 N. Trautman, Broadus, MT 59317, at the familys request.
