Adam was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on December 31, 1984. He was subsequently baptized on January 13, 1985 and later confirmed on May 16, 1999. He graduated from Dawson County High School and went on to receive an Associates Degree from Dawson Community College and a Bachelor’s of History Degree from The University of Montana.
The love and loyalty Adam demonstrated to his family and friends was matched only by his passion for Star Wars…and possibly the San Francisco 49ers. He touched the lives of many, though when asked, he spoke humbly about the impact he had on those he came in contact with. He really enjoyed floating the river, watching football and playing cribbage with his favorite partner, Jessi Freeman (as he pointed out, she was the only one who could offer him a challenge). He had been known to debate the finer points of Star Wars, eat a jar of pickles in a single sitting and take his own bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing with him to any restaurant he went. This trait quickly earned him the unofficial nickname of “Mad-eye Moody.”
Adam had an infectious smile, a distinguished laugh and the innate ability to step in as mediator, defusing any situation (“I love you, I love you, I love you…”).
We are not meant to know the mind of God, but there is no doubt that He is using Adam’s death to His glory. Adam was born last into our family and was the first to lead the way to be with our Lord.
“The last will be first, and the first will be last” – Matthew 20:16
Adam is survived by his parents, Howard and Jo Schreibeis; Sisters, Michelle (John) Rice and Kristy (Bob) Schnetter; Brothers, Stephen (Charity) Schreibeis and Eric (Tracy) Schreibeis; Grandparents, Floreen Schreibeis and Betty Heinrich; Girlfriend, Jessi Freeman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
We love you Adam!

Jade Freiboth says
I remember the first time I ever met Adam was while he was working at UM in the food court. I finally had ordered from him enough times to find out he grew up right down the road from me being in Terry. Over Christmas break I was taking classes and working at the music store Sam Goody in the mall, but had been forced to leave my car in Terry for a few weeks until the roads cleared up. Adam picked me up after work on the ridiculously icy streets in his mustang on several occasions, just because he was a nice guy. We would talk about music for hours on end and I credit him for introducing me to my favorite band The Used and coming to fully appreciate Blink 182 =). And although I haven’t seen him in several years, I would still wonder how he was doing or what he was up to every time I would hear a song from them. I am so sorry for your loss of a son, brother, friend, and boyfriend- he was simply one of a kind.

I was so saddened to hear of Adam’s passing, but comforted in knowing he is at home and in peace with the Lord. He was a wonderful person! I’ll treasure the childhood memories I have of him while growing up in Libby. I always gave him a hard time for never claiming to have lived there and he always took it in stride. I enjoyed running into him at Red’s throughout the years and for me, Red’s will just never be the same. Heaven gained one of the best yet, and I’m so thankful I had the chance to know Adam. My heart and prayers are with all of you at this time.

I’m sorry for the loss, gang. I lost my brother in an untimely death such as this nearly 16 years ago. I still think of him a bit every day, but am happy for the memories I have of him rather than sad over his departure. I hope you are able to find the same comfort. Special condolence to Adam’s brother-in-law and Michelle’s husband, John Rice: being your college roommate for the short time that I was is a greater blessing to me than you will ever know, John. Thank you for that, and may the Lord comfort you, Michelle, and all your clan during this time. God bless, Shu

When the Schreibeis family lived in Glendive I would hang out with all three of the Schreibeis boys; they’re all great guys so there were a lot of us that did. Many of us friends, as is common, referred to each other simply by our last names. So, in order to avoid having to ask “Which one?” every time someone would say, “Hey, I’m going to hang out with Schreibeis, let’s go!”, a few of us took to referring to them as Small, Medium and Large. Adam defied that nickname, however, with his huge smile and positive demeanor. As one friend put it last night, he made you feel good about life. Here’s to you, Smalls!!
runaway reinekes says
adam…you will be greatly missed by ALL of us. thanks so much for touching our hearts..you added so much to our lives. wont be the same going to reds and not seeing your bright smile. we luv you kiddo!
Stacie Dodson says
I, like everyone else, was shocked by the news of Adam’s passing. I had been looking for a book to read a couple days beore I heard the terrible news, and ran across a book from a class we had taken together. I laughed aloud remembering our passing notes back and forth in class, quizing eachother on movie quotations. He could ALWAYS stump me! I remember one time I had a migraine and had to miss the last class before a final. Without my even asking, Adam hand copied his notes from class for me. Whenever I walked into Reds he would make an effort to come across the counter and give me a hug. I know I was not alone in this. He was such a special person, and I have no doubt that God has a special place for him in heaven. Until we meet again….
Lacy says
Adam was one of my favorite people in Missoula! I haven’t lived in Missoula very long but he always had a huge smile and greeted me when we crossed paths. I am very sorry to hear about this tragic event. He will be missed by many!
J Johnson says
Dear family and friends of Adam Jeremy Schreibeis – My sincere condolences to your family. Certainly Adam was loved and his life touched many people. His life was also valued by the Creator who had recorded in the Bible book of Hebrews that God does not forget all of the love and fine works shown by His servants (Heb 6:10). It was not God’s purpose that mankind suffer and die. At creation God was able to say that everything was “very good” (Gen 1:31) Death was introduced through Adam’s disobedience (Romans 5:12). Jesus’ sacrifice of his human life on earth again gave us hope of everlasting life. Hopefully, faith in these Bible promises will ease the pain from this loss as you look forward to seeing Mr. Schreibeis again under perfect Paradise conditions as originally purposed for mankind in the Garden of Eden.
Paul Vaagen says
My thoughts and prayers are with you

Joanne Cowles says
May the Schreibeis family accept my deep sympathy for the loss of someone so young. I have received such comfort from God’s Word where it holds out God’s promise of resurrecting the dead. (John 5:28,29) It was never God’s purpose for man to die as seen in the account of Genesis 3. Isaiah says that Jehovah will swallow up death forever And Revelation 21:3,4 says there will be no more pain sorrow, mourning or even death. Psalm 37: 9,10,29 speaks of the earth being restored to that paradise condition. Isaiah 25:8 says that Jehovah will do these things. May these promises of man’s future give you hope of seeing your Adam again.
Eric Schreibeis says
What an amazing thing, to see how a simple action by a kind hearted person can touch the life of someone unexpectedly.
Love you little Brother!
