Agnes Dannhoff Warner, age 70, of Forsyth passed away due to brain cancer, on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at the Rosebud Health Care Center.
Agnes was born April 21, 1933 at the family farm house in Watonwan County, Minnesota the daughter of Gustuv K. Dannhoff and Elsie Wojahn Dannhoff. She attended the St. Johns parochial School at South Branch, MN and St. James Public High School in St. James MN. After completing business courses at Mankato Business College, she worked as an extension secretary for Watonwan County. On December 29, 1956, she married Beecher Willard Warner and the couple moved to Bozeman, MT where Beecher was studying for a degree in Range Management. Agnes and Beecher later lived in Roundup, MT, Philipsburg, MT and finally landing in Forsyth, MT in 1968. In addition to raising five children, Agnes was an active member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, spending many years teaching Sunday school and Bible Class, participating in choirs and eventually serving as Financial Secretary at Concordia Lutheran Church in Forsyth. She kept the books for the family farm and ranch interests in Minnesota and Montana. Agnes enjoyed life wherever she was, loved to garden, served an occasional stint as election judge, spent numerous hours in the bleachers watching her kids, real or unofficially adopted, at various sporting events, and was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. Agnes had the opportunity to travel a great many places, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, as well as the US, Mexico and Canada. Most of all, Agnes enjoyed talking and laughing.
Agnes is survived by her four sons, Karl Warner of Laramie, WY, James Warner of Gillette, WY, Bill Warner and his wife Jude of Spearfish, SD, and David Warner and his wife Shelee of Billings; her daughter Barbara Warner of Forsyth, six grandchildren Zachary, Emily, Jeremy and Madeline Warner, Joshua and Tashina Kallerud; a sister Alice Davis of Belgrade, MN; a brother Bernard Dannhoff of St. James MN; a sister-in-law Dorothy Worman and her husband David of Biddle MT; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Beecher and her brother Carl Dannhoff.
A memorial service will be on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at 10:00 AM in the Concordia Lutheran Church in Forsyth. A private family burial will follow the service in the family cemetery on the family ranch next to Biddle, MT.
