We have always enjoyed buying vehicles from Mac’s frontierland, and they were always fair with us. When our son was in college and his old Ford truck gave out, Mac drove up a Ford ranger that we had suggested for our son, Dax, and Mac loaded the old vehicle onto a flatbed and delivered the newer ranger to our very appreciative son in Missoula. What a great guy! The whole Makelky family knows how to give the best customer service.
We are sorry for your loss of this good man.

Cecilia Ball says
I was born in El Paso and met Mac through Mary Ellen as I am a lifelong friend of Mary Ellen’s family. Mac and Mary Ellen invited me and Mary Ellen’s sister, Peggy, to visit Montana. Mac and Mary Ellen took us to all the sites in Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. I was amazed that Mac could drive for hours upon hours and never seem tired.
I am a California resident but at one point had to spend considerable time in El Paso to take care of my mother. Mac and Mary Ellen invited me ti stay with them when I was in town and Mac would always have a car for me to use so I did not have the expense of hotel or car rental. Mac was one of the sweetest people I have ever known and, even as I write this, I can see his face fill with glee as he told one of his very corny jokes.
He was truly one of a kind and I was so very lucky to have known him.
My deepest sympathies to his family.

So sorry to hear that Uncle Al passed. He always seemed bigger than life. When I was only 5 years old (1948) I got to visit him and Aunt Agnes in Miles City. He would always bring me milkshakes when he came home. When my visit was over they put me on the train back to Mandan. He bought me my first fishing rod& reel. What a great uncle! Over the years, Dawn and I would stop on our way through Montana. He insisted that I take Mary Ellen out golfing because she loved to golf. Another example of how he put others first. I can still hear his great laughter. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Know that we will remember him as a great person and uncle.

WE TRAVELED MANY MILES TOGETHER, BORDER TO BORDER, CANADA TO MEXICO, CALIFORNIA TO GEORGIA TO GO TO BASEBALL, BASKETBALL, BOXING AND FOOTBALL GAMES. HE LOVED THEM ALL, ESPECIALLY THE INDY 500 RACES. ALTHOUGH I COULDN’T MAKE AS MANY OF THE RACES AS MAC DID, I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT 28 TIMES. EVERY MINUTE AND EVERY MILE WAS FUN AND ENJOYABLE, AND WE MADE MANY GOOD FRIENDS. I HAVE SO MANY GREAT MEMORIES WHICH WILL STAY WITH ME FOREVER. I’LL MISS YOU EVERY DAY. GENE
I JUST WANT TO ADD THAT MAC WAS THE MOST GENEROUS PERSON WE HAVE EVER KNOWN. HE MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO BUY THE LOT WHERE WE BUILT OUR FIRST HOME WHERE WE LIVED FOR 34 YEARS. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE GREAT TIMES WE HAD WITH MAC AND AGNUS FIRST, THEN MAC AND MARY ELLEN LATER.
