Native son Albert Donald Bone, 84, died December 9, 2009, in the care of his family and Hospice in Sun City, Arizona.

Don was born June 27, 1925 in International Falls, Minnesota to Albert and Gladys Bone. He graduated from Powder River High School in Broadus, MT in 1941 and later married his high school sweetheart, Lela Barbero.

Don was in the trucking business with his father, hauling livestock and feed for local ranchers in southeastern Montana and together they pioneered long-haul trucking in the late forties with a range extending north from Broadus into Canada and as far south as Texas. He was acknowledged for his driving expertise, winning both state and national truck driving rodeos. In 1962, Don left the trucking business and moved his wife and children to Livingston, Montana where they owned the Rainbow Motel until 1972. He then sold the motel and operated a Texaco gas station along with a U-Haul business and wrecker service. After owning his own businesses for 32 years, he worked for Park County as an equipment operator for 11 years before retiring.

In 1994, Don and Lee moved to Sun City, Arizona where he enjoyed golf, bridge and other activities provided in the retirement community. One of Dons greatest passions was playing golf scoring seven holes-in-one during the nearly 50 years he played. He was known for his service to others, living by the Golden Rule and love for a good joke. His life talents also included amazing skills I baking bread, mechanics, lapidary jewelry, and as a young man independent baseball and basketball.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Gladys and his daughter Sherri.

He is survived by his wife Lela; his sister Delores (Kenneth) Carter; daughter Donna (Bob); son A.J. (Valerie); grandsons Jacob and Jesse; and daughter Carla (Dan).
