Albert Moos, age 93, of Miles City formerly of Circle and Brockway passed away May 21, 2013 at Holy Rosary Health Care in Miles City with his family by his side.
Albert was born October 17, 1919 to Henry Moos and Lydia Knopp Moos in a homestead cabin in the Watkins Community. He attended the Gackle School and helped with chores and farming.
In 1937 he joined the CCC at Camp Many Glacier in Glacier National Park where he worked on roads and trails for six months. Upon returning home he went to work on different ranches until July of 1942 when he was drafted into the Army and sent to Fort Ord, CA for training. After ten months he was sent to the Fiji Islands and then to Guadalcanal. At the end of the war he was serving on the island of Luzon in the Philippines.
Albert and Lillian Rath were married on December 19, 1942. Upon his return to the States on November 25, 1945 he and Lillian moved to a farm five miles southeast of Brockway where they remained and raised their children.
In addition to his wife Lillian, Albert is survived by his children Harold (Susan) Moos of Brockway, Bonnie (Art) Graveley of Wasilla, AK, Gene (Susan) Moos of Vida and Jim (Rachel) Moos of Vida; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Albert is survived by his Brother Edwin of Circle; Sister Ella Fredrickson of Sheridan Wyoming and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Brothers Emil and Herbert; Sisters Lillian (Rath), Clara (London) and Edna (Rogerson).
Services will be held on Saturday May 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons in Circle. A private family burial will be Tuesday May 28, 2013 at Eastern Montana Veterans Cemetery.
