Alberta was a wonderful woman and a great friend. I am so sorry I never got to say good bye to her. We were really good friends and I enjoyed her so much. I loved her spirit and her stories, which were true. She was spunky and strong and so much fun. I enjoyed taking care of while she was at the Manor. She was so brave all the time. She love her family very much and was so proud of her Indian heritage. She shared many a memory with me, which I absolutely treasured. She told me she would not have changed a thing in her life if it meant changing one of her memories with a family member. I am not good with names at all and used to call her Roberta all the time, which made her so mad. She would continually correct me and I would apologize on almost daily basis, to which Alberta would reply with a grin, “Oh, that is okay, you white people can’t get anything right!” Oh how we would laugh after her rebuttal towards me. She was such a doll and one of my most favorite people I cared for. I am so thankful I got to meet and eventually know her. I am sure she leaves a huge hole in many people’s lives. Please accept my belated condolences on her passing, I do know she was not afraid to die and love her family ever so so much. Take comfort in the fact that you all gave her so much pride and I life she felt was well worth it. God bless as only He can.
