I will miss Alfred so very much from Walmart. I have know him forever, but most recently seen him at the store most, he always had a smile, a wave, and was so helpful. One day i was standing there looking at my cart (cause I am always trying to figure out if I can not take the cart to the car, and just pack it), he smiled and said, “I’ll take half” and walked to my car with me. He was just getting off shift, we had a nice visit, and I said, “well who said Walmart doesn’t have carryout”. Prayers to all of you as you deal with your loss. Mollie

Al was a good friend and neighbor. We were neighbors with Al along the Tongue River from 1990-1999. I have fond memories of riding with Al and Ervin Waldie and Mark Fix and helping each other work our cattle. Al was someone I could always count on if I needed help. I can still see his great big smile and how he would laugh. Al took pride in his cows and rightly so. He was also particular in how he put up his alfalfa. I’ll never forget the time Al helped me teach a young horse of mine to cross the Tongue River. Al always had time for his friends and neighbors. My heart and prayers go out to Dixie and Leroy and Al’s brother and sisters. Al will be greatly missed.

Iam saddened by the death of Al but hope that he is united with his beloved wife and other loved ones. I not only had the privalege of working with Al at Walmart but grew up in the Olive/Mizpah area.and knew his family. My Aunt Cora Mae Smith Oftsie was a classmate of Al’s in Broadus. Al was one of the most friendly and outgoing employee at Walmart. To his family, I extend my prayers and support, and extend my thankfulness for knowing Al. Mary Smith Roig

Here’s to one of the most thoughtful, hard working people I have known who believed in the old code of putting your neighbor before yourself, Al Leatherberry. What I will miss the most is your brightening witty retorts.
Phillip Huckins says
My sincere condolences to Alfred’s family and friends. Alfred and I were classmates in high school. I was fortunate to have him as a genuine friend. I recall on several occasions Alfred helping me with school work. As with most high school boys, we did our fair share of “goofing off” but nothing that ever caused anyone any serious grief. I am only 10 days older than Alfred so on occasions we celebrated our birthdays appropriately. God Bless you Alfred.
