Alfreda Arlene Strange Owl , Mokee’e (Little Woman) went home to be with the lord on October 20, 2024 at St Vincent Hospital in Billings MT.
Alfreda was born in Crow Agency on July 31, 1959 to Alfred Strange Owl Sr. and Florence Harris. Alfreda grew up in Lame Deer. She obtained her GED and graduated college in 1996. She worked at the Big Store (IGA). She then began her career with the Indian Health Service. She worked as a Dental Assistant for many years then as a pharmacy tech, and finally as a Physical Therapy Assistant until she medically retired in 2017. Alfreda married Leslie Baker together they had two sons Anthony “Tony” and Theordore “Ted” Baker. Later Alfreda married Hubert Heart Sr. from their union they had their son Hebert Heart Jr. Alfreda was soft spoken with a kind heart. She always looked out for those she held dear to her heart. She was an avid collator of dolls in which she was always giving away to those she loved. She enjoyed taking drives, watching tv and visiting on the phone. Alfreda was proceeded in death by her parents, son Anthony, brothers John Strange Owl, Aljo Strange Owl Sr, Milo Bighead, James Soldier Wolf. Sisters Marvena Soldier Wolf, Lorna Soldier Wolf. Nephews Carl Bighead, Clayton Bighead James Soldier Wolf, Steven Littlewhiteman.
She is survived by Aunties Florence Running Wolf and Charlotte Rockroads; her brothers Manford Soldier Wolf, Joseph Weaselbear, Melvin, Frank, Dayton Strange Owl. sisters Lazona Harris, Ann Knows His Gun, Althea Little Coyote, Juanita Weaselbear, Rachel Bellymule, Deborah Strange Owl and Shasta Strange Owl, Sylvia Goodman. Extended families include Redneck, Night Walkers, Killsontop, Standing Elk, Pine, Bellymule, Strange Owl, Harris, Soldier Wolf, Waters, Walkslast, Twentystands, Fisher, HisBadHorse, TwoTwo, Ewing, Elliot, Killsnight, Mason and Gleason. Her sons Theodore Baker, Hubert Heart Jr and adopted son Aaron Sparks. Special family and friends Lana Robinson, Dee McDonald, Eric Nickish, Phil Ryman, Patricia Rowland and Dee McDonald. Alfreda leaves behind a large family. Please forgive us if we have forgotten anyone during our time of grief.
Alfreda wanted to say “Thank you to all those that took care of me”. Thank you to the Northern Cheyenne IHS, Crow/Northern Cheyenne IHS, Billings Rehab and Nursing, Billings Clinic, and the Intermountain Hospital Staff. Our family would like to thank all the staff that took care of Alfreda.

My sympathies to her family. I appreciated all that Alfreda did to help patients and staff at the clinic. My apologies as my mother has been ill and I am out of state at this time.

Oh, man, I’m so sorry I wasn’t there with you in the end. As you know, I don’t always hear the latest news (who’s sick, who’s in the hospital, etc…) but every time we would talk, it was like “old times” when we grew up in Lame Deer.
Glad you are no longer in pain as the last time I saw you a few months ago. You are in a beautiful place, and at peace now. ☀️

She had love for everyone, she will be missed but what a joy it is for her to be greeted in heaven by Jesus, her son and her loved ones that have gone before her.
