Algie Row, age 90, Broadus, MT passed away on Friday, October 28, 2005 at the Powder River Manor in Broadus.

Algie was born in Chadron, Nebraska on August 13, 1915, the daughter of Sam and Elnora (Hoisington) Row. Her family came to the Biddle Community in 1924 where they could afford land. She attended grade school at Bowers Creek and graduated high school. She then went to Denver Bible Institute for a year. She later went to Siloam Springs, Arkansas to attend John Brown University where she graduated with her teaching degree. Algie attended Bob Jone's University in Greenville, South Carolina for a year. She taught for 29 years throughout Montana and Wyoming.

Algies faithfulness was evident throughout her live. She taught bible school every year and Sunday school every Sunday in as many as fifty communities in Montana and Northern Wyoming. In 1948, due to her fathers ill health, they moved to Gillette, Wyoming. No matter what the weather, she drove her jeep to teach Sunday school at the First Baptist Church in Broadus. She fully supported the first minister the first year he served the church. Algie was a giver and she supported orphans and many Christian organizations, too many to list. In 1977, her and her parents bought a home in Broadus.

In 1991, Algie was in a very bad jeep accident and had a long recuperation period at the Deaconess Hospital in Billings. She was then transported to the Belle Fourche Nursing home and also spent some time at the TLC Personal Care Home in Miles City until 1998. In 1998, she went to live in the Powder River Manor in Broadus.

She is survived by a distant cousin, Charlotte Mast of Vermontville, MI; Doris and Roger Quaring of Broadus, who have looked after her and operated her ranch since 2001; Mary Washburn of Broadus, a special friend that visited her often; and Dick Jesse of Broadus, who was like an adopted son.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Broadus. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Bowers Creek Cemetery.
