Alice Mae Brown, of Sidney, formerly of Poplar, age 88, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center in Williston.
She was born January 30, 1916 in Culbertson to Dugald and Mary Solomson Hagadone. Alice married Herbert H. Brown on May 20, 1936. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1970. Alice was a restaurant cook. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and sewing. She also cherished her time spent with her family.
Alice is survived by her sons, Frosty (Lenora) Brown of South Poplar and Herbert, Jr. (Niki) Brown of Great Falls; daughters, Mary Bloom of Sidney, Rosaline Smith of Powers Lake, ND, Lorraine (Roy) Hatten of Orting, WA, Donna Brown of Bonney Lake, WA, Myrtle (Reg) DuMontier, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Shirley (Bruce) Hatten of Federal Way, WA, Betty (Mike) VanAlstine of Federal Way, WA, and Dora (Roger Harison) Brown of Sidney. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Ruby Hagadone, Nora Hagadone, and Margaret Brown, and brother-in-law Glen Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert, two granddaughters, her parents, six brothers, one sister, and three sons-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 6, 2004 from 6 to 9 pm at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Poplar. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 11 am at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Poplar. Interment will be in Poplar City Cemetery.
