Her Cheyenne name was Hestaneoo’e which means “Stands against the Wind Woman”. Alice “Goo Goo” Faye in her early years worked at Northern Cheyenne Tribal Schools and elderly as a cook. She was known as our “Fry bread Queen”. She was a master chef in making fry bread Best in the West! Her daughter will carry on her legacy. She loved all her grandchildren and many other children. Being a head cook she cared to make sure they were fed w/her good cooking and that they didn’t go home hungry she use to say this might be the only time they ate. She had a good loving heart and a warm smile for everyone.
Then her love for the game of softball. This Lady put in work. She’s about to give us all a heart attack with a full court waiting patiently while we yelled “Come on Alice!” sweating but never showing signs of stress, just delivering the BIG HOME RUN BOMB! She was a home run hitter for the CHEYENNE SUNS. So heaven gained an angel but as for the team they are still going Busby Strong!
