Alice Marlene (Fogle) Shawver, age 58, of Jordan passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 with her family by her side.
Marlene was born the 3rd child to Kenneth and Alice (Nordahl) Fogle on October 26, 1951 in Jordan, Montana. She attended Frazier Creek School and Jordan Elementary schools and graduated from Garfield County High School in 1970. On January 8, 1972 she married Jack Shawver at the Community Presbyterian Church in Jordan. She worked at several local restaurants, and was a bookkeeper for her dads Exxon Station. Their daughter, Dina Dawn, was born on December 12, 1975. Marlene worked ten years for Garfield County. During this time her son, Howard Darryl was born on May 18, 1980. She worked in the Jordan Public Schools for ten years. She also worked for Garfield County Health Center from October of 1994 until February of 2008. Marlene was active in 4-H for several years. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She loved her horse Lollipop. She was a collector of many things including porcelain dolls and Barbie dolls. She loved her flower garden and most of all spending time with her family.
Marlene is survived by her husband Jack Shawver of Jordan, MT; her beloved family dog Buckshot; her children: Dina (Dennis) Kuchynka and Howard (Alyssa) Shawver of Miles City, MT; grandchildren: Jessica, Tony, Kimber and Kenneth Kuchynka and Raymond and Rori Marie Shawver; her parents, Kenneth and Alice Fogle of Jordan, MT; two brothers: Reuben Fogle of Jordan, MT and Roger Fogle of Billings, MT; her mother-in-law Jessie Shawver of Jordan; numerous aunts and uncles, numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the Phil Shawver family, Jean Bryan family, Pat LaMoure family, Deb Stocker family, Sheri Hafla family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, one sister, Marva in 1983 and her father-in-law, Ray Shawver.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 31, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Jordan. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Pioneer Cemetery in Jordan and a luncheon at the VFW Hall. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
