Allen Michael Wagner, age 68, of Miles City passed away on March 30, 2015 at the VA Community Living Center in Miles City.
Allen was born on December 28, 1946 to George and Willahelimina Wagner in Eads, Colorado. He lived there for a year and then moved to Canton, Ohio where he attended school through the 7th grade. In 1960, he moved back to Colorado where he graduated from Palmer High School in 1965. In February of 1966 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served four years and was honorably discharged in 1970. In 1971, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1975 where he was an airplane mechanic. Following the service, he attended college and received his masters degree in carpentry and roofing.
In 1981, while working as a foreman at the Crow Rock Ranch in Miles City, he met and married the love of his life Debra June Bair. To this union Duncan Bair, Hattie Bair and Austin Bair were brought into the family. He moved around working doing different carpentry and farming jobs and eventually settled in Harlowton where he worked as a rancher for the Capser Ranch.
Allen enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all enjoyed being a grandpa.
Allen is survived by his parents George and Willahelimina Wagner of Colorado; his children: Duncan (Mary Jane), Hattie (John) and Austin (Jerry); grandchildren: Dillon, Desiree, Lilly, Ava and Grace; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Debra Wagner of 33 years, two grandchildren Tiffany and Connor; mother-in-law Lola Bair; brother-in-law Frank Bair and sister-in-law Hattie Bair.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the VA Chapel in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Custer County Cemetery with military honors.
