Pete”Allen Leonard Sherman was born in Lame Deer, MT, December 7th 1940 to Otto and Letha Sherman. He passed away at his home of natural causes on August 20, 2013 on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation where he was an enrolled member of the tribe. Pete went to school in Lame Deer and graduated from Busby High School in 1959. He along with his 2 brothers and 3 sisters helped their Mom and Dad on the “Stump Ranch” on Kirby Creek from about 1957 to 1959 before
moving to California that same year. Pete married his first wife Judy in 1961 and they had a son, Ronnie and a daughter Tammy together and were divorced in
1975 and returned to the Reservation that year and was later married to Denise (Roth) in 1978 where they lived at his home west of Lame Deer until their
divorce and where he lived up to his passing. Throughout his life he was a great joke and story teller as was his father before him. No one it seemed ever
escaped from lots of laughter and maybe a red face when visiting with him at Lame Deer IGA where he retired, on the street, or at his home where he always made
people feel welcome. He is survived by his son Ron of Colorado, daughter Tammy of Colorado, 2 granddaughters, sister Barbara (Sherman) Gies of Billings, brother Conrad (Ellen Sherman of Pasadena, California, , 1 niece, 8 nephews, 9 great nieces, 8 great nephews, 15 great great nieces and nephews, much loved
cousins and friends too numerous to count from the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, and was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Dewey, Richard, Gary
Sherman and two sisters Doris Sherman, and Christine (Sherman) Hamilton of Lame Deer, and niece Tina Hamilton.

May God give you peace and comfort through his sure promises to end pain, mourning and death (Revelation 21:4) Almighty God also promises to fulfill our desires, not just our needs (Psalms 145:16). Cherish all the happy memories of Mr. Sherman and be further comforted by the Bible (John 17:3).

My thoughts to Pete’s family.
the Noll family says
Our condolence to the Sherman family, friends and relatives of Pete. He was one of us “housing project” kids in the early 1950’s. His family moved here to Bremerton Washington and his Father worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. We all have fond memories of him during that time. May you rest in peace Pete.
the Noll family—John, Kay, David, Wayne and Frank.
