Alvin Schuetzle, age 69, of Miles City, Montana, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 in Miles City.
Al was born on July 17, 1935 the son of Ted and Meleta (Hoenke) Schuetzle in Baker, Montana the youngest of three children. He attended Lame Jone's country school until the eighth grade and graduated from Plevna High School in 1953. After graduation he attended Rocky Mountain College for one year and then began substitute teaching at the Red Hill School. In 1955, Al enlisted in the U.S. Army, and after his honorable discharge he began working construction in Glasgow, Montana and Salt Lake City, Utah. On January 22, 1959, Alvin and Louise Jenks were united in marriage in Salt Lake City, Utah where they lived until 1961 when they moved to Baker, Montana where Al worked in the oil fields and for Fallon County. In 1968 they moved to Belle Creek, Montana where an oil field was just beginning. In 1988, they moved to Miles City and Al began working for Coca-Cola Enterprises where he drove truck hauling products from Billings to Miles City. Al enjoyed sports, especially watching the Denver Broncos. He also enjoyed going to the Drop-in-Center to play cards and e-mailing jokes to his family and friends. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Al is survived by six sons; Bret Schuetzle and his wife Sheryl of Red Wing, MN, Warren Schuetzle of Miles City, MT, John Jenks and his wife Deb of Murrieta, CA, Mike Jenks and his wife Evelyn of Wright, WY, Steve Jenks and his wife Lora of Princeton, IN, and Terry Jenks of Townsend, MT, fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, a sister Irene Tombre and her husband Mel of Savage, MT. and his brother Glen Schuetzle who only survived him by a day, passing away on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Louise in 2003.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 6, 2004 at 10:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
