In Memory Of

Alvina Magnuson Kosty

November 28, 1940 – November 27, 2010

Alex Magnuson Kosty, 89, died November 27th, 2010 at her home in Highgate Senior Living, Billings, MT where she had resided for the past two years.
Alex was born on November 18, 1921 in Marsh, MT. to Helen and Benjamin Schlenz. She graduated from Custer County High School in 1940.Alex married Harold Magnuson November 28, 1940 in Miles City, Montana where they resided for all but 3 of their 50 years of married life. Harold was employed for two years in the shipyards at Lake Washington and then 15 months with the Navy during World War II. He died in 1991.
Alex was a member of the Town and Country Club, the Miles City Club, First Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and Circle. She competed in golf and bowling leagues and was always ready to play a game of cards with family and friends. She enjoyed bridge, sewing club and ceramics. Recently, she began creating her own greeting cards.

Alex married family friend Victor Kosty in 1993. During their 11 years of marriage they enjoyed traveling and visiting their extended family. They spent summers in Miles City and winters in Sun City West. Vic died in 2004.
Alex is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Orrin) Ferris of Billings and Linda (Vern) Erlenbusch of Miles City; stepsons Kurt (Jill) Kosty, Doug (Cindy) Kosty, Clark (Mary) Kosty, step-daughter Norma Jean (Bob) Brown and step-son-in-law Chuck Rude'; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Others who preceded Alex in death...step-father Charles Martin, sister Ruth Lynam and stepdaughter Sue Rude'.

The family wishes to thank Highgate Senior Living Staff, Caregivers and friends for their love and care of Alex.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com
