Alvina Opal Nesbit Study, age 74, of Sheridan, Wyoming formerly of Broadus, Montana passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the Sheridan Manor in Sheridan.
Alvina was born on March 20, 1932 on the family home near Piniele, Montana, the daughter of Frank and Susie (Farnsworth) Rosencranz. As a growing child, she worked hard to help with the many
tasks involved with a large family and ranching and herding sheep. She attended school in Piniele, Montana and Lead, South Dakota. Alvina married Bill Nesbit on May 2, 1948 in Miles City, Montana. Following their marriage, they lived atPowderville, Montana and she continued to help with ranching and being a mother and housewife. At the age of 50,Alvina obtained her GED. Alvina then married Brooks Study on July 31, 1989 in Miles City, Montana. They made their home in Biddle, Montana until 2002, when they moved to Sheridan, Wyoming where they resided at Sugarland Ridge Assisted Living Facility. They remained there until the time of her death. Alvina especially enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, music and dancing.
Alvina is survived by her husband, Brooks Study of Sheridan, WY; a daughter, Bonnie (Barney) Hofer of Miles City, MT; a son, Doug Nesbit of Susanville, CA; four grandchildren: Jon, Matt and Rob Hofer and Dane Nesbit; two step-daughters: Linda Shannon of Big Horn, WY and Barb (Mike) Fleck of Oregon; step-grandchildren: Riley Shannon, Eric Fleck, Lauren Sherman, Matthew (Amanda)Ackernecht, Katelyn Goff, and Camille Moffitt; one step Great-grandchild, Ashlyn; two sisters: Betty (Bob) Brownfield of Riverton, WY and Gladys (Steve) Williams of Great Falls, MT; five brothers: Jim (Helen)Rosencranz of Belle Fourche, SD; Frank (Barb)Rosencranz of Broadus, MT; Bill (Ruth)Rosencranz of Camp Crook, SD; Jerry (Gloria)Rosencranz of Boyes, MT; and Francis (Carlene) Rosencranz of Spearfish, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Clara Languth Freier; brothers: Arthur, Ernest, Morris, Pete, and Vergil at infancy.
Alvinas ashes will be scattered in the Pine Hills on the original family ranch at a later date.
