Alvin Jones, age 56, took a final ride on his Harley before passing away at his home in Sheridan, WY on July 12, 2012.
Alvin was born on June 14th, 1956 in Belle Fourche, SD. He was the first born son of Johnny and Anna Jones. Shortly after Alvin was born, they moved to Natarita, CO. In 1960, they moved back to run the family ranch in Belle Creek, MT. Alvin started school at the Wright Creek School until the Belle Creek school was built. He attended Belle Creek school through the 8th grade and then went to Powder River County High School in Broadus where he graduated in 1974. Alvin’s true love was his Harley and rode everywhere, rarely missing a Sturgis rally. When he was not on his bike, he was hunting and fishing. The Tongue River was his second home. His favorite possessions were his gun and knife collections and a never-ending pile of antlers. Always by his side were his two dogs, Pud and Whiz.
Alvin is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Johnny Jones, and his dog Pud. His is survived by his mom Anna, one brother Deed (Debbie) Jones of Big Piney, WY; two sisters Carolyn (Robert) Traub and Marilyn Jones and friend Jim, both of Broadus; two nieces, Bobbi (Josh) Rumph and Echo Jones, two nephews Nick (Ashley) Jones and Chantz Jones, and 8 great nieces and nephews, Jadyn, Michael, Logan, Payton, Bailey, Carter Matazie, and Gage.
