Amy Lynn Chavez (Meemy)
On the evening of October 27, 2021, Amy passed away peacefully and gently at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, MT, as a result of a hard battle against covid. Amy was 31 years old.
Amy was born on February 20, 1990, in Miles City, MT. She was the first-born daughter to Terry (Tonn) and George Chavez.
Amy lived in Miles City, MT until the age of 18 when she moved to Minot, ND, after graduating from CCDHS, to attend the University. She lived there for 7 years where she found many great friends and worked as a manager for Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch Thrift Store. In 2018 she moved back home to Miles City to be closer to family. She then began working at Holy Rosary Healthcare, first in Patient Access then as a Financial Counselor.
Amy was most known for her caring heart, kind spirit, intelligence, and her humor. It was always a strong desire for her to help people at whatever capacity she was able. Throughout her employment opportunities she was able to assist those in her community and touch the hearts and lives of many. She always had a way of making people laugh or smile and being wonderfully silly. In her free time, Amy loved doing anything creative, such as painting rocks to hide, projects or craft kits with her niece and nephew, and drawing or designing. Amy had a passion for music and attending concerts. She enjoyed traveling, adventure, camping and the outdoors. Her favorite places to visit were Yellowstone National Park and Red Lodge, MT. Amy most of all loved spending time with her family and close friends having fun, bringing joy, love and laughter.
Preceding her in death were her Uncles Thedore D. Tonn and Edward Chavez; Aunts Therse Chavez, Diane Chavez, Suzie Selby; Grandparents Edith and Theodore A. Tonn and Ruth Selby and George L. Chavez and Dolores Jablinski.
Amy is survived by her sisters Blair and Casey Chavez; parents Terry and George P. Amy, A beautiful young woman who left this world way too soon. But God wanted and needed you in Heaven more than we needed you here on Earth. Though we will miss you , we know you are no longer in pain, and it would have been selfish for us to keep you here. Our hearts ache, but our souls feel a sense of peace for you sweet lady. You will be a beautiful angel sitting on God’s golden throne.
To Amy’s family, I can only imagine how you must feel, and empathize with you. I have known Blair for a very long time, she is like another daughter to me. I always felt like I knew Amy fairly well, your whole family as well. You cannot meet any of you anywhere without a Hi and a visit. Know that you are always in my prayers and if there is anything else I can do for you just let me know. My thoughts and prayers continue for Terri, and the rest of you. May God send his Angels down to comfort you all. Please continue to believe God is in Control and He Loves you. I love you all too. God Bless you
