Amy Lynn Kelstrup, age 57, of Miles City, Montana crossed over the Jordan on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Amy was born in Miles City, Montana on October 1, 1967, the daughter of John and Betty (Bailey) Bonogofsky. She grew up and attended schools in Miles City, graduating from Custer County District High School in 1987. She attended Miles Community College where she received an Associate of Arts degree in 1990. She married Jason Livingston in 1989, and they had two children. He passed away in 2002. Amy married Clinton Kelstrup in November of 2003, and they moved to the Sheffield area, to her “little house on the prairie” on the Brewer Ranch where Clint worked. Amy worked as a customer service rep including Stockman Bank and then at Walmart.
Amy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she taught at the Trinity Lutheran School and served as a den mother for Girl Scouts. Her daughter Megan recalls having her mom substitute teach for her class one day, where she preceded to call her by mom, resulting in the whole class calling her mom for over two weeks. She loved crocheting, her pets but most of all spoiling her granddaughter. She loved her family and was a faithful and encouraging wife and mother.
Amy was baptized into the Holy Christian and Apostolic Church at Trinity Lutheran on March 11, 1992. God’s Love, knowing of Christ’s redemptive work, showed through her in her cheerful and patient attitude that made her a well-loved individual. In January of 2004, Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer. After successful treatment the disease went into remission. In March of 2021, she was diagnosed again with stage 4 breast cancer, the battle began again. In August that year, she suffered a stroke/PRES, a rare brain condition brought on by the chemotherapy, which put her in the ICU for a month. Amy was able to be brought home where she continued her recovery. The cancer returned in the spring of 2023. After unsuccessful treatment, Amy went into home hospice care in the summer of 2024. Having always been a blessing to care for and much thanks and appreciation to all her doctors and nurses for the wonderful care they provided from the Frontier Cancer Center, Holy Rosary Infusion staff, St. Vincents Hospital, WEL Home Health team and the Holy Rosary Hospice staff. Thanks to the Brewer Ranch and crew that were very accommodating, allowing her to be cared for at home and the prayer and support of family and friends. It was a joy and blessing to be able to care for her and something that will always be appreciated.
Amy is survived by her husband Clinton of Sheffield; her son Jesse Livingston of Miles City; her daughter Megan Livingston of Miles City; son Seth Kelstrup of Miles City; granddaughter McKenna Scheele of Miles City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
