Andre Ann Philbrick passed away May 22, 2012 at her home with her family at her side. She was born January 23, 1935 to Stella and Conrad Pederson in Glendive, Montana. Andre graduated from Presentation School of Nursing and obtained a BA from University of Colorado Nursing Programs. She was passionate about life! She was a 2nd generation nurse, her career was recognized with many awards. Her real love was family, the ranch, horses, cattle, artwork and preserving the values of a country lifestyle. She raised her four daughters on the front range of Colorado. Most weekends including mother’s day, were spent on the road at dusty arena’s helping her girls compete in 4-H and rodeo events.
She married her high school sweetheart and best friend Newell G. Philbrick on May 12, 1998 they resided on their ranch in Forsyth Montana that they shared with many; including hunters and foreign exchange students. Andre never new a stranger and loved visiting over a cup of coffee, while looking out over their meadow or in a country café while her and Newell were traveling.
She was very involved in the community and was active in the SE and Rosebud CattleWomen, serving as president for many years. Her canvas for her artwork might be the bleached bones in the pasture or a crushed pop can, but she was always able to find a way to use the character of the object to portray a western story.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father and is survived by her husband Newell, her daughter Roban and husband Martin Bunting, Rita Trostel, Chelle and husband Scot Wahlert and Rebecca Compher; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Andre was my second mother. I grew up two doors down and spent most of my childhood wrapped in the circle of love that Andre had surrounding her. She was a wonderful woman who always had a smile and a hug for me. I am truly blessed to have been another daughter in the family. Sorry that I can’t be there in person for the service, but I’ll definitely be there in spirit. Love to you all! – Beth

I am so sorry to hear that Andre has left this world – I enjoyed knowing her through our business in Longmont, Cowboy Classics. We sold her cow rib back scratchers and other artistic items she created. I have two of those back scratchers at home and was thinking about Andre just recently and wondering how life in Montana was going – she loved the ranching style! Heard all about her meeting up with her husband at a school reunion! Fun story. My sympathies to all of her family and may she rest in peace. She will be missed in this life but will be creating her wonderful artistic treasures in heaven now. Sincerely, Maril Bice

Wow she sounds like a wonderful lady not soon forgotten i was just googling my prayers in tongues and that’s how i found her she sounds alot like me without the cattle and money i only got my cna was studying for my lpn …her story inspiring me not to grow weary in well doing. Thanks for making this post available to me. I get to holding back my love for people cuz so many hurt me and it hurts to watch them hurting eachother but as i can see here and now they are not the ones who remember her it’s the other ones the ones that appreciated her love in whose life she made a dffrence… Could it be cuz she chose to continue to love the people regardless what they do… She’s beautiful to me and I don’t even know her. I don’t do email I’ve recently been playing with Facebook. .. Just got hard looking at all the hate some sharks in my water i don’t trust them they want to hurt my friends and family watching us it’s ugly but in that same sea there are those who are more like the people who showed up and posted the nice things about this fine lady Andrea that helped me just now to appreciate my own life even more. Thanks
