Anna Kron, age 96, of Miles City, MT passed away on September 11, 2022 at Holy Rosary Residential Care. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. To family she was Mom, Oma or Tanta Anna. To friends she was sweet Anna. Everyone who knew her, loved her. She was the kindest, gentlest, most precious soul who lived. Earth was a better place because of her.
Now heaven is her home. She was ready to go live with her Savior, Jesus, who told her that He had prepared a special place just for her.
She was buried next to her husband in the Custer County Cemetery. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on November 12th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miles City, Mt at 11:00 with lunch for all following the service.
Anna was born on February 26, 1926 in Kurudschika, Bessarabia to Christian and Elizabeth (Erdman) Hintz. She was the 7th child in her family of 8, five girls and three boys. There was a 24-year age span between oldest and youngest sibling. Life was hard. No excuses; it was hard for everyone. Nothing was wasted and nothing taken for granted. Hard work was the way of life for all. That’s just the way it was. In 1940 eastern Europe, this young teenager was further introduced to the cruelty of war and politics. She and her family became refugees, escorted out of their country by governments with little consideration for the common man. Migrating to northern Germany, working on a farm with her sisters, Anna met the charming man she would marry. At the age of 24, Anna married the love of her life, Otto Kron. Together, their future would lead them down the path of being Displaced People, directing their future to America in 1951, where opportunity existed for those who were willing to work hard. Anna and Otto knew how to do that. By 1959, both became Naturalized Citizens of the United States of America. The U.S. benefited greatly by grafting in these incredible new Americans.
Anna was an avid gardener who shared her bounty with friends and family. She grew the best flowers in the neighborhood to be enjoyed by all who walked by. When anyone asked her how she was, her response was always, “I have absolutely nothing to complain about.” That’s courage.
This union produced 2 sons, Sieg and Herb, 5 grandchildren, Heidi, Eric, Sarah, Matt and John, 8 great-grandchildren, Alex and Eva King, Kairon, Owen and Gavin Kron, Eric and Robbie Kron and Connor Hoshibata.
Anna was preceded in death by both parents, her husband in 1997, all of her siblings, and 1 son. Herb is the fortunate one who got to know his mother quite well in the 25 years after his dad

We all loved Anna, and Otto too, and I know my Mom and Dad were there with great celebration to see their beloved neighbor again. I have the best memories of shooting baskets in her driveway, eating wonderful vegetables from her garden, and still to this day use the flour sack towels she made for us with the “A.K.” lovingly stitched in the corner. What a beautiful life and I loved her like my own grandmother!

Always had fond memories of Otto and Anna and you guys. Such great neighbors. She was one of the most hard working people I’ve ever seen, it was an honor to have known her.
