Anna May was born on May 14, 1927 in Baker, Montana, the daughter of Joseph Nicholas and Nellie (Henderson) Ziebarth. Anna May grew up and attended schools in Baker and Kinsey. Anna May married Thomas Leo Haughian whom she met at a dance at Kinsey. They were married on June 11, 1949 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City. Following their marriage, they joined the Haughian Livestock Co. The first year of their marriage they moved to Two Dot where they lived in a sheep wagon. Ranching operations also led them to live at Wolf Point and Saugus. In 1967, Anna May and Leo formed the Gumbo Ranch. They worked hand and hand and loved the ranch life. After Leo´s passing, Anna May remained active on the ranch until the time of her death.
Anna May loved watching her children and her grandchildren in their many activities. She was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed golfing, dancing, making bread but most importantly keeping an immaculate lawn.
Anna May is survived by her children: Dalice (Jeff) Landers, Miles City, MT; Alyn Haughian, Kinsey, MT; Geri (Rob) Kincheloe, Miles City, MT; Darla (Jed) Wier, Lake Elmo, MN; Lori (Tim) Herron, Havre, MT; thirteen grandchildren: Chris (Marissa) Morford, Kelly (Trish Fjelstad) Morford, Tyler Landers, Jade (Kyleigh Plant) Landers, Clay (Amanda) Kincheloe, Jamie (Taylor Beardsley) Kincheloe, T.W. Kincheloe, Seth Wier, Logan Wier, Kacy Herron, Josi Herron, Molly Herron, and Marca Herron; five great grandchildren: Kinley Burian, Graley Beardsley, Greyson Morford, Emery Morford and Fallyn Beardsley; three sisters: Betty Tweeten, Sadie Claus and Joan King; and four sisters-in-law: Betty Haughian, Mary Haughian, Frances P. Ziebarth & Frances L. Ziebarth; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Leo, her husband of 32 years, her parents, her stepmother, Anabell Gieb Ziebarth; a daughter, Rita Morford; a great grandson, Cy Kincheloe; four brothers: Bob, Francis, Walter and Parker and four sisters: Irene, Lola, Lela and Iris.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. A Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City.
