Anna R. Bush

Funeral Service: Wednesday,October 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.

Graveside Service: Custer County Cemetery in Miles City

Anna Rose Bush, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.

Anna was born on July 9, 1919 in Glasgow, Montana, the third of nine children born to Thomas and Ernestine (Zass) Olinger. The family moved from North Bench to Glasgow for school. She graduated in 1938 from Glasgow High School, third in her class. During her high school years, she babysat, clerked at Ben Franklin, and cleaned rooms at the Shannon Hotel. She met Christie Bush who was in the C.C.'s in Fort Peck and later they were married in Livingston, Montana in 1942 and made their home in Gardiner, Montana. They herded sheep for Frank and Georgia Laird at the Chalk Buttes. Christie enlisted in the United States Navy and during this time Anna spent time in Glasgow. Later, they settled on a ranch at Ekalaka, Montana. Then they moved into the town of Ekalaka where Anna worked at the Ekalaka Hotel, Old Stand Cafee and the Mainline Store. Anna had a car accident in 1982 and retired. She moved to Miles City in July of 1990 and remained there until the time of her death.

She enjoyed needlework, flowers, cardinals and her precious times spent with family. She was a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.

Anna is survived by her children: Beverly (Jack) Stoffel, Donald (Sue) Bush, Donna (Pat) Miller, Marjee Beach, Carol (Monte) Talkington, Cheryl (Willy) Cain; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren; two sisters: Emma Boyd, Laura Maki; two brothers: William Olinger and Gordon Olinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Christie;a sister, Bertha Spencer, and three brothers: Henry, Edward and Walter Olinger.

Funeral Serviceswill be held Wednesday,October 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
