Anthony James Follette (AJ)AJ Follette, age 20 of Poplar, passed away December 15, 2006 at the Poplar Hospital. Cause of death is under investigation.
AJ was born June 29, 1986 to Darrell Follette Sr. and Arlene Buckles. AJ attended school in Helena while he lived with his grandparents; Carm and Bob Lambert, then went to school in Poplar, then transferred to Oregon where he graduated from Chemawa High school in May of 2006.AJ loved playing cards and hanging out with family and friends. AJ had a strong love for basketball. His favorite NBA team was the LA Lakers. AJ enjoyed watching TV and spending time with his little brothers and his sister. He also enjoyed hanging out with special friends Hoke Fast Horse, Clarence Fast Horse Jr., Chris Follette, the Clark boys, Mitchell Jr., Calvi and Michael J.
AJ is survived by his parents: Darrell and Ida Follette of Poplar, Maternal mother: Arlene Buckles of Texas. Honorary parents who raised AJ: Jackie (Nate) Follette of Helena. Grandparents: Carmelite Lambert of Poplar, Dennis (Flora) Follette of Helena, Lydia and Ceya Long Hair of Fort Kipp, adopted grandparents: Mary (Alvin) Savior of Poplar, three brothers; Dominique Buckles of Fort Kipp, Darrell Jr., and Neal Follette of Poplar, and his one and only sister: Chelle Follette of Poplar. Adopted brothers: Chris Follette and Natron Long Hair of Helena, adopted sisters: April, Heather, and Cassie Follette, Stephanie Long Hair of Helena, Brittany Black Eagle of S. D., and Ashley (Marvin) Youpee of Poplar. Aunts and Uncles: Dennis Follette Jr. of Culbertson, Darlene (Marvin) Follette of Wolf Point, Leonard (Cindi) Follette of Fort Kipp, Verle (Mary) Follette of Poplar, Lisa (Steve) Barr of Wolf Point, David Follette, Neal Follette and Marion Follette of Helena, Lexie (Jay) Country of CA., adopted uncles and aunts: Allen (Laureen) Russell of Poplar, Brian (Trudy) Eder of Brockton, Curtis Red Eagle Jr. of Poplar, Sarah Red Eagle of Poplar, Cerise Grey Bear of Poplar. AJ also had numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.AJ is preceded in death by his Grandpa, Robert (Bob) Lambert; his aunt, Denise Follette, his cousin, Sierra Follette and a nephew Jake Preston Granbois.
A Wake will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at the Poplar Cultural Center with a prayer service at 7 p.m. His funeral will be 12 noon Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the Poplar Cultural Center with interment following at the Ft. Kipp Cemetery.
