Tony Sperle, age 51, of Hysham died on Sunday, May 29, 2016 near Custer, Montana. Tony was born on July 2, 1964 in Hettinger, North Dakota. His family lived in North Dakota until he was 10 months old, when they moved to South Dakota until he was 1 year old. They then moved to Bynum, Montana. When Tony was 2 years old, Tony’s mother taught school for 7 years near Choteau, MT. It was after those years that the family settled in Hysham in July of 1973. Tony was in the 4th grade. He finished his schooling in Hysham and graduated in 1982 from Hysham High School.
Tony enlisted in the Marines when he turned 18. He served for 3 years and worked at Pendleton Marine Base in California for several years. After his years in California, Tony moved to Oregon and Nevada. He was a mechanic, heavy equipment operator, and a truck driver. It was in 2013 that Tony moved back to Hysham, where he lived until his accident.
Tony is survived by his mother, Betty Sperle; sister Candas (Brad) Klossner and family; brother Chris Sperle, and Tony’s special friend Tonda Grosek. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Vigil and Rosary will be held on Friday, June 10 at 6:00 PM at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Hysham, MT. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow the service at the Memorial Vale Cemetery.
