Ardeth Johnson, age 90, of Oshkosh, Nebraska, formerly of Terry, Montana, passed away on August 10th, 2024, in Oshkosh, Nebraska at her daughters home.
Ardeth was born December 25, 1933, in Fowler, Indiana to Kenneth and Dorothy Childers, the youngest of 5 children. She attended elementary and high school in Fowler, graduating in 1951. After graduation she worked for RCA in Indianapolis. She had met Robert Johnson earlier in her life and by 1954 he had convinced her to move to Ismay, Montana and become his wife. They were married on February 26, 1955. In November of that year their son Rocky was born and two and a half years later their daughter Judy joined.
In 1963, they bought a farm in Wisconsin and packed up everything they owned plus kids and a dog. Ardeth was a hard-working farm wife and loved working next to Robert. She was an excellent seamstress, making beautiful wedding and bridesmaid dresses. By 1976 they longed to be back to where they began, so they sold the farm and bought a small place in Terry. For the past 4 years she has lived with her daughter and son-in-law.
Ardeth is survived by her daughter Judy Jeske (Stephen); 3 grandsons Robert Johnson (Amanda), Brian Johnson, and Damon Jeske (Christine); 8 great grandchildren Kaylee Piron, Christopher Johnson, Lauren Grove and Jaelyn Grove, Reagan Johnson, Mariyah, Amara and Daniel Jeske; and sister Joann Fairgrief.
Ardeth is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert; son Rocky; sisters Marge and Betty; and her brother David.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry.

Instant frienship when I moved in next door in Terry, Mt. She helped me to restore the house. We had so much fun all those years together. Doing the garden, making salsa and so many other things. She will be in my heart forever. She was wonderful to my grandaughters, especially Jessica who she would sit on the table and fed pudding evevy day. What a God send she was into our lives. Robert too loved us dearly. They are together now. Thank you Judy and Steve for taking such good care of her. Love you, Shirley,Sam, Tiawna & Jessica

Best neighbor ever! We had so much fun working together with pealing potatoes and making French fries, so many potatoes! She even helped me fix a fence in the back yard one day. Wonderful friend and neighbor, glad we had that time together. She will be missed by all.
