Arlys Koester, age 76, of Miles City passed away on October 30, 2015 at TLC Personal Care Home in Miles City. Arlys was born on February 2, 1939 in Poplar MT. She was the oldest daughter of Alice (Burshia) and Maurice Archdale. She grew up in the Poplar and Wolf Point area. After graduating high school in 1957, she joined the U.S. Army. She was honorably discharged in 1960. She married Clyde Koester in April of 1973 in Wolf Point, MT. They moved to Great Falls, MT. where they resided until after the death of her husband. She moved back to Miles City in July of 2013. Over the years she worked for the Fort Peck Tribal Police, Travelers Insurance, The National Weather Service in Great Falls and for the Catholic Diocese (Blessed Sacrament) also in Great Falls. She is survived by five sisters; Ann (Bill) Feuerherm, Alicia Soucy, Nora (Lyle) Slunaker all of Miles City, Julie (Tom) Maddux of Billings and Lois Brunson of Woodland CA; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Military Graveside services will follow in the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
