Arnold Jerke, age 73, of Terry was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 20, 2003.

Arnie was born on March 17, 1930 in Gackle, North Dakota to Edward and Matilda Kramlich Jerke. The family moved to the Worden, Montana area when Arnold was eight years old and when he was in the sixth grade, they moved to Shepherd. He moved to the Zero Community west of Terry, Montana in 1950, where he farmed for 52 years, retiring in 2002. Arnie married Joyce Wedel on December 21, 1962 in Billings, Montana. Arnie loved to gather around friends and visit about farming, the weather, crops, machinery, and of course, old times. He taught his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews how to irrigate and what farming was all about. He loved playing the harmonica for all who would listen.

Arnie is survived by Joyce, his wife of 41 years; daughters: Robin (Bob) Ward of West Linn, OR, Holly (Wayne) Shawver of Billings and son, David of Wheatridge, CO; and nine grandchildren. Survivors also include three brothers and four sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2003 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Prairie County Cemetery.
