Arthur David Kimes 73, of Miles City died at his home on August 3, 2016, due to unknown causes.
David (Dee) was born November 26, 1942 in Portageville, MO to his parents A.M. Kimes and Lottie Mae Brown.
Dee was inducted in the US Army in 1967 and received an honorable discharge in 1972.
After the Army Dee left for the wide open spaces of Montana and landed in Miles City. He so loved Montana and the Yellowstone River that he never left.
Dee was a quiet unassuming man, who loved the outdoors. In truth he was only inside to eat and sleep. He loved to garden and always canned the fruits of his labor. In his quiet times, he enjoyed reading all he could find concerning World War II.
His survivors include three brothers; Daniel (Kay) Kimes, O.L. Kimes and Randy (Debbie) Kimes, seven sisters; Linda (Dan) Hall, Judy (JR) Blankenship, Sharon (Pal) Barger, Marilyn Kimes, Tammy (Russell) Street, Reida (Todd) Baker and Freida Kimes. Dee was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Will Kimes.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery in Miles City.
