Graveside Service: Friday, June 15, at 11:00am at the Forsyth Cemetery.
Arthur M. Hagen, age 90, of Forsyth passed away on Monday, June 11, 2007 at the Rosebud Health Care Nursing Home in Forsyth.
Art was born on November 14, 1916, the youngest of 3 children born to Sever and Margaret (Lanphere) Hagen in Ingomar, Montana. Arts parents came to this country from Lom, Norway and Homesteaded in Ingomar where they engaged in ranching until their deaths. Art was raised and educated in Ingomar and graduated from Ingomar High School in 1934. He spent five summers in Bozeman, Montana and one winter in Los Angeles, attending Aircraft Construction School. Arthur worked in a smelter for two years in east Helena and later owned and operated the Korner Klub in Bozeman from 1949 to 1951. He was united in marriage to Georgianna Sicard on April 5, 1951 in McAllister, Montana. They moved to the family ranch in Ingomar and together they operated it until the time of her death in 1987. During this time he was a member of the Montana Stock Growers Association. Arthur decided to retire from the ranching business in 1991 and moved to Forsyth in 1993. He resided for the last five years at the Rosebud Health Care Nursing Home until his passing.
Art was a congenial man, well satisfied to spend his remaining years at the nursing home and if he were here today, he would surely want to thank everyone for their kindness while being there. The Bible promises a resurrection for those in the memorial tombs and so we may look forward to the hope of seeing him again. Jesus words after resurrection Lazarus: Do not marvel at this for the hour is coming when all those in their memorial tombs will come out.
