Arva Evon Spidel
Arva Evon (Klar) Spidel went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 2.
Arva was born January 25, 1935, to Wm. and Hazel (Martin) Klar in Miles City being delivered by a mid-wife. She first grew up on her parent’s homestead at Angela, MT, before they moved in 1944 to Charlo where her parents ran a dairy farm. She graduated high school from Polson in 1953.
After graduation she moved back to Miles City where she worked for the Anderson Store for several years. There she met the love of her life, Clifford O. Spidel, from Terry. Together they worked at the Pine Hills School for Boys as house parents. They also worked a while at the McRae Ranch before Cliff headed to Barber’s School in Deer Park, WA, in 1959. His barbering landed them in Hysham. Their love brought them 3 daughters.
Arva lived in Hysham for 56 years. She enjoyed playing cards with her many friends. She read romance and mystery novels, sharing books at her hair dresser’s and with her sister, Marlene. For years she would be the one beet truck driver for Maynard Simmerman. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and was a Deacon. She was very proud of all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, having fun keeping up with their activities.
In 2015 she moved to Hardin to live in the assisted living facility. She missed her Hysham friends at the Senior Citizen Center, but became involved with playing Bingo, putting jigsaw puzzles together and completing crossword puzzles in the Daily Brief.
Arva was preceded in her passing by her husband, Cliff; both of her parents; in-laws, Emmanuel and Anna (Gaub); brother, William; two sisters, Burnice Jensen, Christel LePoidevin; and son-in-law, Robert Fultz.
She is survived by her three daughters: Barbara (Pete) Molina, Hardin; Linda Fultz, Roberts; Karen (Julio) Morales, Hysham; sisters: Margie Kaldor, Fosston, MN; Marlene (Dallas) Parkins, Billings; aunt: Arlene Hull, Laurel; brother-in-law: Elmer (Avis) Spidel, Billings; stepson: Cliff (Colleen) Hale, Sheridan, WY; stepdaughter-in-law: Gay Hale, Sheridan, WY; 9 grandkids: Royce (Jen), Gene (Stacey), Gwen, Nicole (Jr.), Sheila (Shane), Paul (Julie), Dean (Gabby), Steven (Jordan), Wesley (Lauren); 8 greats: Dawson, Keaton, Nicholas, Marcus, Phebe, Bruce, Shyanne, Macen; and by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Treasure County Museum or the Treasure County Seniors.

I am going to miss you Grandma. My trip back home next Thanksgiving was for you but I guess it was a little to late.It will never be the same without you. It’s not going to be right without cards from you in the mail. Calling on the holidays and talking with you will be missed. Its going to hard for a while. I hope when you went up Grandpa was holding your hand. May you finally be free and peacefully from pain and now eternity with Grandpa. Love and Miss you!
